When is Halifax Music Fest?
Halifax Music Fest takes place Friday, June 26th & Saturday, June 27th, 2026.
Where is Halifax Music Fest?
The festival is held at Garrison Grounds, located on the southwest side of Citadel Hill National Historic Site. The entrances are off Sackville Street and Ahern Avenue. Please refer to your ticket confirmation for your designated entry gate.
What time do the gates open?
Gates open at 4:00 PM each festival day.
What time does it end?
Headliners will finish up at approximately 11:00 PM each night.
Is there an age restriction?
- Children 14 years of age and under must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Maximum of 4 children aged 14 and under per adult.
- Some performances may contain content not suitable for children. Parental discretion is advised.
What is considered a valid photo ID?
Those 19+ must have a valid (non-expired) government-issued photo ID – please be prepared to present two pieces of ID (health card or other government-issued ID) upon request. For those aged 15 – 18, who are not attending with a parent or legal guardian, a student ID or driver’s license will be accepted.
Is re-entry allowed once I have my wristband?
No. If you leave the site, you will not be permitted to re-enter that day.
Will there be a site map available?

What forms of payment are accepted?
- A credit card is required to purchase tickets.
- Most on-site purchases will be credit or debit only.
- Limited cash transactions may be available.
Is the festival rain or shine?
Yes. The festival will proceed unless a severe weather event occurs.
Is smoking, vaping, or cannabis allowed?
No. Halifax Music Fest is a smoke-free and vape-free event in accordance with Parks Canada regulations at the Garrison Grounds.
Who is performing and when?
Performances begin at 5:30 PM daily. When the full schedule is released, you can view it on the lineup page.
What happens if an artist cancels?
All scheduled performances, including headliners, are subject to change or cancellation without notice. No refunds will be issued due to artist changes or cancellations.
How can I stay updated on festival news?

What can I bring?
- Small backpacks/bags (Max size 30.5cm x x 15.5cm x 30.5cm)*
- Fanny packs & small pouches*
- 1 factory sealed bottle of water (max size is 1L)
- Sunscreen (100ml or less, no aerosols)
- Ear plugs/hearing protection
- Rain ponchos
- Small blankets or towels for sitting on the hill
- Personal cameras (no removable lenses)
- Prescription medication in original packaging
- Phones and tablets (max size 28cm)
*Please note that there will be express lanes at the main entrance for those who do not bring a bag.
What CAN’T I bring?
All attendees will be subject to a bag search upon arrival. For a smooth and safe event, please leave these items at home.
- Large bags/backpacks or other large carriers
- Chairs
- Umbrellas
- Coolers
- Outside food & drinks other than what’s listed above
- Professional cameras, audio, video recording equipment (no removable lenses, GoPros, selfie sticks or tripods)
- Drones or any radio controlled devices
- Laser pointers, noisemakers
- Flags or signs
- Fireworks
- Illegal substances, alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs without a proper prescription
- Vapes – there is no smoking or vaping allowed on-site
- Spiked or studded jewelry
- Spurs
- Large or wallet chains
- Pepper spray or mace
- Weapons of any kind or anything that could be perceived as a weapon
- Any item that may pose a safety risk or interfere with other guests’ enjoyment
- Pets – only registered service animals are permitted

Where can I buy tickets? What types of tickets are available?
- Tickets are available online only.
- Tixr is the exclusive official ticket seller.
- Resold or secondary-market tickets are not guaranteed.
- No multi-day passes are offered.

- Grants access to the General Admission area and vendor village for food, drinks, and merch.
- Standing room only with access to the hill.
- Bleacher (19+ and Under 19):
- Entrance: Ahern Avenue
- Grants access to the General Admission area and vendor village for food, drinks, and merch.
- Bleacher seating on a first come, first served basis.
- Premium (19+ and Under 19):
- Entrance: Sackville Street
- Grants access to the Premium and General Admission areas.
- Dedicated Premium entrance for quick entry and exit.
- Access to covered area and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Upgraded washrooms.
- Exclusive bar with expanded menu and merch booth.
- Accessible:
- Dedicated entry lane at Sackville Street entrance
- Grants access to the Wheelchair Platform.

What are “tier” tickets?
Each ticket type (General Admission, Bleacher, Premium) has three tiers: Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3.
- Tiers reflect pricing only—all tiers offer the same experience.
- Prices increase as each tier sells out, so buy early for the best deal!
Can I refund, resell, or transfer tickets?
- No refunds.
- Transfers are allowed once via your Tixr account. Learn more here.
- Upgrades to Premium & Bleacher tickets are available, subject to availability.
Are weekend passes available?
No. We appreciate your feedback, but only single-day tickets are available. If you would like to attend both days, you can add a second day at a guaranteed Tier 1 price via the “Add On” feature in your Tixr wallet or at checkout.
Can I upgrade to a Premium or Bleacher ticket?

GETTING HERE
How can I get to the festival?
The Garrison Grounds are centrally located on the Halifax peninsula.
- Walk, bike, carpool, or take public transit, taxi or Uber!
- Biking is encouraged—it’s fast, efficient, and eco-friendly! Check out the city’s interactive bike map.
What buses will get me to the grounds?
Halifax Transit bus routes 10B, 123, 138, 185, 192, 9A & 9B stop near the festival. Find more information on routes and schedules here.
Is there on-site parking?
There is no parking on-site. Downtown parking options are available but may be limited. Find some options here.
Is camping allowed on-site?
No. Camping is not permitted at Garrison Grounds.

ACCESSIBILITY
Is the festival site accessible?
Yes! We offer:

- Wheelchair platforms (Limited capacity – contact us before purchasing a ticket.)

Is there reserved accessible parking?
Accessible city parking is available on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved. To find accessible parking in downtown Halifax, check out this interactive map.
Are service animals allowed?
Only assistance animals, with a valid assistance certificate, are permitted. Emotional support animals, therapy animals, companion animals, and pets are not allowed.
SAFETY & MEDICAL SUPPORT
Will there be medical staff on-site?
Yes! First aid responders and paramedics will be available. Look for the first aid station.
Are naloxone kits available?
Security and medical staff are trained in administering naloxone for opioid-related incidents and will have some on hand.
Can I bring prescription medications?
Yes, but they must be in original packaging and the name must match your photo ID.
What if I see something happening that doesn’t seem right?
If you see something, say something. Flag down a team member.

CODE OF CONDUCT
Halifax Music Fest is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all guests, artists, staff, and volunteers. The following Code of Conduct outlines the behaviours expected of all participants. Violations may result in removal from the festival grounds, without refund, and possible referral to law enforcement.
- Have your valid government issued photo ID on you at all times.
- If you notice something that doesn’t seem right, do not ignore it. Flag down any staff member, security personnel or HRP officer on-site.
- Minor persons under the age of 19 are not permitted to consume or handle alcohol under law. Any person violating the Liquor Control Act will be ejected from the festival grounds and referred to law enforcement.
- Anyone providing drinks to minors or contributing to the intoxication of a minor will be immediately removed from the festival grounds, without refund and referred to law enforcement.
- Cannabis and/or other drugs may not be brought onto the festival grounds without proper prescription and identification.
- If you have consumed alcohol or drugs, do not drive.
- Intoxicated persons will not be allowed to enter the festival grounds.
- Individuals with alcohol in their possession will not be permitted to enter the festival grounds.
- Respect others, all property, and your own reputation. Verbal abuse, intimidation or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Any person found to be in possession of a weapon will be subject to a criminal investigation and immediately removed from the event without a refund.
- Any person found to be fighting or threatening others will immediately be removed from the event without refund.
- No public indecency is allowed anywhere on the festival grounds.
- Operation of remote-controlled devices, including drones, is prohibited.
- No open fires or flames are permitted.
- Anyone caught breaking festival rules or the law will be removed without a refund.
